You know the Australian Grand Prix is a truly international event when Oscar-winning actor Charlize Theron jets in and stars in her own drama.
Here as the “face” of LK Property Group’s $500 million Capitol Grand development in South Yarra, jet lag and the pounding sun may have afflicted the glamorous blonde because during a packed media call, she called the residential and retail extravaganza “Capitol Hill”, the political nerve centre in Washington, DC.
When Theron raved about being in Australia, she got confused, saying: “Having this invitation to come out to this extraordinary event and asked to be joining this incredible family that you’ve created, Larry, with Capitol Hill, oh Capitol Grand.”
Wearing a white pantsuit and high heels, Theron said about the huge contingent of media and fans surrounding her: “I wasn’t expecting this.”

Theron may have become further disoriented by an 11-metre billboard of herself in the “Champions Gateway” because journalists were told that scheduled five-minute one-on-one interviews with the South African-born actor were cancelled.
A spokeswoman said: “A personal complication in the US has come up.”
The chief executive of LK Property Group, Larry Kestelman, looked visibly disappointed because he wasn’t expecting that after presumably paying a squillion dollars to the girlfriend of actor Sean Penn to be the face of the “six-star” development that’s themed “Lead me into temptation”.
